Van Buren County has contracted with Emergency Communications Network, Inc. for the CodeRED telephone emergency notification service. The CodeRED system gives county and city officials the ability to deliver pre-recorded emergency telephone notification/information messages to any part of the county or city. Required information includes first and last name, street address (physical address, no P.O. boxes), city, state, zip code, and primary phone number, one additional phone number (optional). This can include Cell Phone Numbers. OR, if you do not have access to a computer or the internet, you can call 501-884-6004 and give your information. They will put you in the WEATHER ALERT database.
Either way, the information will only be used for emergency notification purposes and is kept confidential.
By using the Business option, any Business in Van Buren County can get the Weather alerts by using internet or the above phone number to sign up.
You will get the WEATHER ALERTS only if you sign up. No one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included. All businesses should also register. All individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the last year, or who use a cell phone as their primary phone should register.
